Chatfield's Come to Visit

This summer we enjoyed a visit from the Chatfield and Wood Family's.

We spent a day at Sand Draw where everyone took turns riding four wheelers, dirt bikes,  and the side by side.  Ty couldn't get enough of the dirt bike and could have rode for hours if we would have let him.

We also spend time at Sixth Crossing, where we heard some amazing stories, played in the one room school house and pulled hand carts.

Grandma Camp

Grandma Camp was another big success, and everyone was in attendance. All of the Grandkids where divided into groups for sleeping, meal prep and cleanup.  There were service projects, scavenger hunts, games and plenty of memories.

The Subway

To end the Randall Family Reunion we hiked the Subway which is a hike in Zion National Park.  The Subway hike is 9 miles of fun down a slot canyon.  It is a hike that we did a lot when we were kids and it was fun to have the opportunity to take my kids down it for the first time.

Roundy/Randall Reunion

The Roundy/ Randall Reunion started out in Lander, WY.  We started off the festivities with good food and fun.  The next day everyone participated in the Challenge for Charities fun runs.  There was a 1/2 Marathon, a 5K and Mile run for the kids, and of course we ended the day with fireworks.  On Sunday we headed to Ogden, UT were we stayed with Aunt Jan Ott for a couple of days.

In Ogden we visited Hill Air Force Base, a Dinosaur Museum, Ogden Temple, and went Rock Climbing.

Chatfield Happenings

The last month or two have been busy as the end of the school year always is.  Our main goal has been to get our grass in.  Over spring break we were able to get our sprinkler System in, and a couple of weeks ago we laid sod.  It is awesome how big a difference a little grass can make.  Don't get me wrong we still have a ton of work to do.

Sydney also had her end of the year band concert.  It is fun to see how much better they get each year.  She has loved playing the trumpet and is excited for another year of band.
Sydney also had the opportunity to represent Wyoming at the National Science Olympiad Competition in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Science Olympiad is a National Science competition, first schools have to compete at the state level and each state gets to send one high school and one middle school team to represent their state.  Riverton Middle school won the state competition for Wyoming.  A team consists of 15 students and they compete in 30 different subjects, from bridge building to insect identification (entomology). She was gone for 6 days and had an awesome experience.
The Opening Ceremonies started with a parade of states.  After the parade of states they had a few speakers and a physics professor gave a physics presentation.  It is not the best picture but Sydney was picked to come up on stage and help with one of the professors experiments.
