Christmas Programs

Sydney and Kaden both had Christmas programs this week.  Sydney had her annual band Christmas concert.  We were excited to hear her play her solo that she had worked really hard on.

Kaden also had his winter concert.  He was a little embarrassed because of some of the dancing he had to do, but he survived.

Halloween

Halloween was filled with all of the usual festivities we carved pumpkins, Kaden had a school costume parade and of course we hit quit a few houses trick or treating.  It took Kaden about a month to finally figure out what he wanted to be. We went from Army guy, to homeless person, and then Luke Skywalker and then we finally ended on Batman.  He made a good choice.  Sydney knew from the beginning that she wanted to be a ninja.  She pulled it off nicely.

We went trick or treating with the Walker clan.
Saturday morning Sydney and I participated in our first 5K Pumpkin run sponsered by the High School cross country Team.  Sydney took first in her age group and won a pumpkin pie.  It was a beautiful morning for a run.

Homecoming Parade

Sydney was able to march in her first Parade this last week.  It was Riverton High Schools Homecoming. Kaden's school also was able to line up along the parade route.  He had fun cheering her on.

A few House pictures and a little X-country.

Sydney had another X-country meet, this week they hosted their home meet.  Sydney ran a great race, she  took 13th out of 120.  The girls were also able to pull off a win, with Syd taking 3rd for her team. We are very proud of her she has worked really hard.

We have also been able to settle into the house.  We only have a few boxes left to unpack, slowly we are finding places for everything.  We also have a lot of finish work that needs to be done.

House Update

We have had a few people ask to see updated pictures of the house.  Here is an exterior view.  Pictures of the inside hopefully will be soon to come.

LIFE!!!

Life has been a little busy,  The end of August is always a crazy time of the year, first we get to celebrate Kaden's birthday,  This year he turned 8.  We are very proud of him.  He was baptized August 30th.  And we are very thankful for all of the family that came to support him.  Then we got to celebrate Sydney's birthday she turned 12.  Her life in primary has come to an end and now she is on to young women's.
Summer also came to an end.  Sydney started 7th grade this year and Kaden is in 3rd.  It is amazing how fast they grow up.
The weekend before school started we headed to Logan for the Temple open house with the Walker Family.  Afterwards we spent some time fishing up in Heber and everyone had the chance to catch some big fish.
Sydney also started another cross county season and she is having a great year.  In Rawlins this weekend she took 18th out of 112 and received her first medal.  She has been working hard and having fun.
The house also is coming along,  hopefully this weekend we will be able to move in.

Thunderbirds

We took a little break from the house to go watch the thunderbirds.  It was a well needed break.  We left our house at 4:00 in the morning, we were about 30 minutes into our drive and Sydney informed us that she didn't bring any shoes.  We had rushed her into the car a little to quickly.  As soon as we got there we found her a pair of flip flops and then we headed to the show area.  Afterwards we headed over to the airport where we were able to see a few plains and helicopters.  It brought back a lot of fun memories.
