Steffensen's Come to Visit

This week the Steffensen's came to visit. Sydney and Kaden have been looking forward to this visit for a long time.  For our first adventure we hiked up to the sink canyon waterfall, at the beginning of our hike we ran into a bull snake right in the middle of the trail. When we got to the top a few of us soaked our feet in the freezing cold water.  

On Wednesday we headed out to ride 4 wheelers and dirt bikes.  There were a few entertaining wrecks, but everyone had a good time.

Summer has officially begun

The school year has officially come to an end.  Sydney successfully completed the 6th grade, she loved playing the trumpet.  She also enjoyed cross county and track, but as usual her strengths are in her academics and we wouldn't have it any other way.  She has always been praised by her teachers for how prepared and organized she is and for how hard she works.  She will do great things if she puts her mind to it.  

Kaden also had a great year,  he loved his teacher Mrs. McDonald. She was stern but fun.  His favorite subject was P.E. of course, and math was a close second.  

The house is also coming along, this weekend we got the floor joists and some of the floor boards on.  Kaden doesn't think we are working fast enough. By Wednesday we should be able to start framing and it will begin to take shape.  

Kaden is still playing baseball.  Anything that gets him outside makes him happy.

The Mets

When you think of spring of course you think of baseball and track.  Kaden loves baseball, this year he is on the Mets.  His favorite part of course is hitting.  

The Past Week

Another school year is quickly coming to an end, and as we all know that can get a little heck-dick. This week Sydney had her last Band concert.  She has loved playing the trumpet.  

She also had her last track meet which was in Rock Springs, WY, it was probably the coldest track meet yet.  We experienced hail, rain, and was a really cold wind, but we were still excited to watch her.  Grandma and Grandpa even came to support her.  

Also the footings for the house are all framed.  Hopefully on monday the weather holds up and they will be able to pour. 

Track and Field

Sydney had another great Track Meet, she PR'd in both of her events 1600M and 800M.  It was held in Lander, and the weather was perfect.

Easter Weekend

Saturday we spent the day out with some friends rolling Easter eggs, riding dirt bikes and four wheelers,  roasting hot dogs, and making smores.  The weather was perfect, and everyone had a good time.  

House

Our next house building project is officially underway.  Here is a picture of our lot,  we are all excited.
